Mushy Post Day 2

On Wednesday, Chaz and I went to a Twins game to celebrate our anniversary. Our anniversary is not until Monday but since we are having a birthday party for Chaz that day, we decided to celebrate a bit early!

Chaz and I have a knack for reflecting on the past. Maybe it is just me and I make him reflect with me, but either way, it is fun to talk about the past and special memories we have. After 9 and 1/2 years, there are quite a few memories!

One memory that I love was not shared with Chaz, however, but rather with all my bridesmaids. After taking pictures and stopping for a bathroom break at my mother-in-law's friends house, we loaded in to two cars to head to the church. I remember shouting as we walked out the doors, "Let's go get Chaz some insurance!" (As he was in school and did not have worked provided insurance...or possibly any for that matter; I can't remember!).

As we were driving to the church, the Black Eyed Pea's song "Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night" came on the radio. We rolled down the windows, both cars had hands hanging out the windows jamming, and we all laughed at the irony that that night WAS going to be a good night! It certainly started the whole event off on the right foot. I will never forget sharing that moment with some of the most important women in my life!

Tonya and Twins...

This weekend one of my best friends Tonya came down to accompany me to a Twins game. Needless to say, we had some large buckets of Malibu Punch and got a little tipsy...probably the most fun I have had at a game yet! Isn't it great to have friends you can have a good time with?!?

Yesterday I ran a mile and it felt great. I had some time before I mowed so I just hoped to it and punched out a quick run! I have been doing videos and not so much distance runs but I am ready to hit the pavement again! Tonight I will make Thomas go out with me...gotta start preparing for Thursday's MN State Fair Adventure!!!!

church and cookies

This weekend, on top of my wonderful food splurges and rockstar running, I got to experience something else totally cool! My college roommate, and one of my best friends, was giving a sermon at her hometown church. Since I was up in Moorhead and only 45 minutes away, I decided to get up early and I met my other two college friends, Kelsey and Alyssa, so we could all watch Emma together.

In a few words, Emma did amazing! It was such a wonderful sermon, and I loved sitting there, in a good old Lutheran church, listening to her enthusiasm for life, God, and the African culture. Emma’s sermon was a reflection on her time in Africa with the Peace Corp and how in a place so far away, she was able to feel right at home. She talked about bird watching, something she did in her hours of free time, something she found peace in.

It was also so wonderful to see a true family of God. Emma’s dad is the Pastor at this small town, Minnesota church, and her mom sings in the choir. How cool to span the front of this church and see this family, all playing a different role, but with a common goal, to spread the word of God and his presence in their life. It was a neat experience, and I just wanted to share it with all of you!

P.S. Shout out to Mary Kay! You rocked those polka dot stockings! Us Auggie ladies thought you were one hip momma!

P.P.S. Try these cookies! They are so fricking amazing, a great size! (bigger then most cookies!), and only 2 points per cookie!!!!!
